What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is an innovative, non-invasive approach to fat loss and body contouring. Laser energy targets and permanently eliminates fat cells in the belly, love handles, back, thighs, and under the chin in just 25 minutes. Multiple areas can be targeted during a single appointment, and the procedure can be safely used on a variety of body types. The best results, however, are seen in those patients with a BMI under 30.
How Does SculpSure Work?
Noninvasive applicators are applied to the area to be treated. Laser energy targets pockets of fat under the skin, slowly raising the temperature to 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hot enough to destroy fat cells without damaging other tissues.
Over the next three months, the body processes these fat cells until they are permanently eliminated. Some patients find that they need up to 4 treatments spaced at least 6 weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
What Should I Expect During Treatment?
Most patients first feel a cooling sensation, which helps pre-treat the skin to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. As the laser energy targets the cells, there is an intermittent tingling sensation, followed by more cooling to help aid in recovery.
How Long Does It Take To Recover from a SculpSure treatment?
The skin can be slightly red post-procedure, and some patients report mild soreness or stiffness in the treatment area over the next few days. However, internal recovery from SculpSure is immediate. No anesthesia is used, and there are no incisions. Therefore, minimal downtime is needed. Patients usually find that they can resume daily activities upon leaving the office after the procedure.
When Can I See Results?
A more toned and contoured body can be seen at the six-week mark, but the final results are most visible at about 12 weeks, which is the amount of time it takes for the body to completely process and eliminate the excess fat cells.
How Long Do SculpSure Results Last?
Forever! Once the fat cells have been processed and removed by the body’s lymphatic system, they’re gone forever. It’s important to note that it’s always possible to grow new fat cells, so following a healthy diet and exercise plan after the procedure will aid the results.
Is It Safe?
SculpSure is FDA-approved and completely safe. Check with your primary care physician before scheduling a body contouring procedure like SculpSure.
If you have stubborn, unwanted fat that you’ve been unable to get rid of with diet and exercise alone, call the office of At Women’s Own Ob/Gyn or book online to schedule a consultation to see if SculpSure is right for you.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting applies targeted cooling to destroy fat cells in treatment areas. The frigid temperature destroys the integrity of the fat cells, so they die. Your body then eliminates these fat cells through its natural waste-removal systems, effectively reshaping your body.
Who is a candidate for CoolSculpting?
Anyone who is close to a healthy weight, but has noticeable areas that refuse to reduce is a good candidate. CoolSculpting is not designed for comprehensive weight loss but is a nonsurgical alternative to liposuction. Set up a consultation with Dr. Gor to determine if CoolSculpting is right for your aesthetic goals.
What should I expect during a CoolSculpting session?
During the session, you relax on an exam table as the device delivering the cooling energy is applied to treatment areas. In the first few minutes of treatment, you feel slight pressure and an intense cold sensation. As the treatment progresses, you become numb to the sensations and are welcome to read, nap, or watch television.
The procedure is nonsurgical and carries no risk of infection. You can go right back to your normal activities following a session.
What areas can be treated with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting treatments are FDA-cleared for reducing fat on the love handles, abdomen, and thighs. The treatment is completely safe and has minimal side effects, which include redness, bruising, tingling, and swelling. These side effects resolve within a few days or at most, a few weeks.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions of CoolSculpting you need to meet your goals depends on the areas being treated, but multiple sessions usually offer the best results. Dr. Gor develops a customized plan for you based on the areas you’d like treated.
When will I notice the effects of CoolSculpting treatments?
Initial results start to appear about three weeks following your treatment. Optimal results are seen after about two months when your body has flushed out a significant number of fat cells. Your body continues to flush out fat cells for another four to six months.*
How long do the results of CoolSculpting last?
The results of CoolSculpting are permanent because the affected fat cells are destroyed and removed, which means they cannot plump up again. Many patients are so pleased with their CoolSculpting results that they’re motivated to maintain their results. However, because there are still other fat cells remaining in your body, weight gain is possible in the future.
If you have areas on your body you want to slim down, call Women’s Own OB/GYN or book an appointment online to learn more about CoolSculpting.
How much does the CoolSculpting procedure cost?

Is the CoolSculpting procedure safe?
The CoolSculpting procedure is FDA-cleared for the flank (love handles), abdomen, and thigh. With over one million CoolSculpting treatments performed worldwide, it is proven to be a safe and effective treatment for non-surgical fat reduction.
Are there any side effects?
During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Rare side effects may also occur. The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. The CoolSculpting procedure is not a treatment for obesity. As with any medical procedure, ask us if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you.
Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?
Yes, you can. The CoolSculpting procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Often times, patients return to work after their CoolSculpting session is over.
Do I need to take special supplements or follow a strict diet and exercise program?
No supplements or pills are required and you do not have to adopt new diet and exercise habits. Many patients feel more motivated to take care of themselves after their CoolSculpting treatment. It is as if they get a second lease on their body and want to start anew again by taking even better care of themselves.
